How do I book at the resorts?
Call the Unlimited Vacation Club
The unlimited vacation club gives a 25% discount through Nicole’s mom, which is usually the best price available. You can only book through the vacation club by calling. Call the unlimited vacation club, 18779232582, give them the account number SW1-003664 (if they ask for the name it’s Sharyn Treat) and password: Nicole and the dates you want to book. They might offer an additional discount if you sit through their promotional presentation.
Packages
We also recommend you check out some vacation packages. Both Southwestvacations.com and Delta Vacations offer packages with both room and flights include for fairly reasonable prices.
Direct Through the Resort
You can book directly through the resort however, they can only offer a discount if going through the unlimited vacation club.
Should I book at Secrets or Dreams?
Dreams is family friendly and more affordable pricing than Secrets. The Wedding will take place on the Dreams side of the property. Most of the family will be staying on the Secrets side. There are plenty of rooms available on the Dreams side, however the Secrets side seems to have limited space at this time. Staying at the secrets side gives you access to both sides of the resort and so far we have been given conflicting information on whether or not adults at the dreams are allowed to use the amenities on both. We are still looking into that and will update as soon as we get clarification.
How long should I book my stay for?
As long as you like! The wedding is on Sunday, we expect most guests to arrive Friday or Saturday and leave Monday or Tuesday but feel free to make it as short or long of a stay as you would like!
Do I have to stay at the resort?
No! There are plenty of other hotels and accommodations in the area. There is a day pass price you might have to pay to attend the ceremony and other festivities. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND you stay at either Secrets or Dreams for at least the day of the ceremony.
Are kids welcome?
Anyone is welcome at the resort! Kids are more than welcome to come and enjoy the pools, sunshine, and fun!
However, we do ask that for the ceremony only those over 10 years of age be present. Children are welcome at the reception however they will not have a seat assignment or meal. The resort does offer some child care services if you are interested. Please contact them for details.
How do I get to the resort?
The hotel offers transport services from PVR Airport for a fee. This can be reserved at the time of booking your room, but they will ask for your flight information to do so. Taxis and other services are also available.
Tips for the hotel:
Service at the restaurants is definitely on Mexican Standard time so expect it to take a little while.
Bring small change for tips, it’s not mandatory to tip the servers so don’t feel obligated. However, a dollar or 2 here and there seems greatly appreciated.
Pack a pool float! We’re going to bring a few extra but bring your own if you want one. We often buy the $3 ones from target and leave them at the resort.
Guys make sure you pack a pair of pants and shoes! Some of the restaurants at the resort have a dress code.
Mexico Travel Rules to be aware of:
You are only allowed to bring one large electronic device per person. This means either a laptop or tablet but not both. Cell phones do not count. Nicole’s brother learned this the hard way in Cancun (where they seem to enforce it more) and had to pay $150 fine for his IPad. If they catch you with more than 2 devices they charge you 19% of what they deem the value of the extra device is.
